2 April, Formation Flight & Welcome BBQ
At 11:30 on Tuesday, The 9th SOS Booster Club invites all Cannon AFB members and guests to the 9th SOS squadron building to enjoy some appetizers while we gather in preparation for the 9-ship formation flight. After the 9-ship formation overflies the squadron at 1209 and lands, we will celebrate the week to come with a welcome barbecue in our heritage room.
Food and beverages will be provided, and all are welcome!

3 April,  War Story Wednesday 
All are welcome! Civilians, spouses, military members! 
Please join us, as The 9th SOS Booster Club, hosts past and present members of the 9th SOS to tell some of her biggest war stories!

In 2012, a formation of MC-130s and CV-22s traveled to Juba in the heart of Africa to conduct a Non-combatant Evacuation. When they arrived, all hell broke loose. We invite you to hear the incredible story of the evacuation that turned into a rescue mission.

GBU-43/B. Massive Ordnance Air Blast. The Mother of All Bombs. Only one has ever been dropped in combat. Come hear the story and see the video of the big BOOM. 

Hear the story of Ditka 03, the only MC-130P to crash and, spoiler alert...everyone lived!! Their harrowing tale will instill a sense of deepest pride for the ethos of AFSOC members who risk their lives in the most dangers environments on no-fail missions. 


The tale of tail 994...listen to the crew who was a part of the most important mission in our nation's history since September 11th...this is not an exaggeration. You will cry giant American tears. 


This event will be held at the Landing Zone, 211 Levitow Ave, Cannon AFB.

4 April,  Heritage 5K & Static Display

Heritage 5K
Join us, as the 9th SOS Booster Club hosts a 5K race to honor the 75 year history of the 9th SOS. Prizes will be awarded for 1,2,3, and 9th place!

Static Display
The 9th SOS Booster Club invites members of the community and Cannon AFB to tour our MC-130J aircraft and allow us to show our thanks for all of the support this base and the community have given the 9th SOS.

Guided tours of the squadron/aircraft will be from 1300-1530 
Each guided tour will begin with a Capes Brief in the 9 SOS Auditorium beginning at 1300 and will run every 30 min.

 Capes Brief times: 1300, 1330, 1400, 1430, 1500 (last brief of the day)


Overall tour will include capes brief, tour of the squadron, escort out to the flight line (MC-J and MC-P with FARP and Airdrop loads on display)



Members of the 9 SOS, AFE, and LRS will be available to answer any questions from 1300 – 1600

The 9th SOS Legacy Fund provides a convenient and lasting way to honor service to this nation, commemorate time in the 9th SOS, pay tribute to the memory of a loved one or fallen hero, celebrate a special occasion/memory/milestone/mission, or proclaim your love of the squadron.
